Job Summary

At YMCA Camp Greenknoll our counselors are more than just staff-theyre the heart and soul of camp! Spend your summer creating unforgettable memories as you lead exciting activities inspire confidence and bring energy and fun to every day. As a counselor youll help campers grow learn new skills and make lasting friendships-all while ensuring a safe positive and adventure-filled environment. Were searching for enthusiastic dependable and adaptable leaders ready to make this the best summer ever!

What Were Looking For:

Age 16 or older (experience with kids is a bonus!)

Able to roll with the punches think fast and bring creative energy to every situation

Ready to ensure every camper has a blast while growing in confidence and character!

Youll Need:

An infectious level of energy and excitement for working with kids!
Great communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal-youll be a master of high-fives!)
A love for the outdoors rain or shine-this is camp after all!
Experience working with children is a plus!
A team-player attitude but also able to handle things on your own when needed
Passion for getting campers involved in every single activity and ensuring safety at all times
Prepared to go into the pool with campers every day-yes swimming is part of the fun!
The knack for helping campers make friends and grow socially
Positivity in every interaction-with kids and adults alike
Skills to organize lead and inspire your group in exciting activities

For staff 18 or older a background check is before you dive into the fun.

The Perks:

Pay: $$17.00 - $17.25 per hour

Dates: June 22 to August 21 2026 (9 action-packed weeks)

Staff training: You must be available for mandatory staff training on June 1st - June 5 from 5:30PM - 8:30PM and June 8th - June 12th from 5:30PM - 2PM and June 20th 9:30am to 12:30PM8:30. Staff MUST be available for 8 out of the 9 weeks
