Description
Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit including GO Expansion Light Rail Transit routes and major expansions to Torontos subway system to get people where they need to go better faster and easier. Metrolinx is an agency of the Government of Ontario.

What will I be doing
  • Manage and lead the incident investigation team including technical experts and internal/external stakeholders from initial data collection to the release of the final report.
  • Develop work plans and scope for investigations using the Metrolinx investigation methodology to ensure comprehensive and standardized investigation process.
  • Lead the technical aspects of report development and prepare briefing documents to communicate findings and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.
  • Identify work activities and timelines for each phase of the incident investigation while ensuring consistency and thoroughness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements by preparing and submitting investigation findings to relevant authorities in accordance with applicable legislation and standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members and stakeholders on investigation methodologies safety standards and best practices to ensure consistent application across the organization.
  • Meet with senior management to provide regular updates.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
  • Completion of a degree in Safety Engineering Human Factor or a related discipline - or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated training/experience in safety planning operational risk assessment human factors regulatory compliance and/or accident investigation within the construction/transportation field.
  • Experience in construction incident investigations is an asset.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation is an asset.
  • Must be able to obtain qualifications in Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) offered through Metrolinx upon the start of employment.
  • A valid Ontario Class G drivers license to be maintained in good standing is required.
