How You Will Make an Impact
The Wellness Facilitator is responsible for building a dynamic and innovative program that benefits the health and wellness of women trans and non-binary people who have experienced violence and abuse. At times the Wellness Facilitators will work closely with the Child and Youth and transitional housing support worker teams to offer joint programming and supports for the family unit. Wellness Programming will be delivered through program coordination developing and maintaining community partnerships individualized wellness assessments goal planning public education awareness and group facilitation. The incumbent must be able to work independently in residential and non-residential settings including the second stage housing program Dorothy Day program and emergency shelters.
Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
What Youll Bring to Our Team
- Completed post-secondary education in social services or a related field is required
- 2 years of experience delivering direct client care in a social services setting with a focus on assessments safety and individualized care planning.
- 1 Year demonstrated facilitation experience is required
- Have strong knowledgeable of and experience working with a range of issues impacting women and families including homelessness violence against women and children immigration poverty mental illness and substance use
- Understand issues related to gender-based violence and holist health and wellness models
- Understand and be comfortable working from a person-centered trauma-informed approach
- Demonstrated experience in program development and co-ordination group facilitation and counselling are required.
- Fluency in a 2nd language is an asset
- CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
- Valid G license required and ability/willingness to drive company vehicle.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills interpersonal skills organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload also required
