PositionDescription


The Career Coach Facilitator York/Durham region plays a key role plays a key role in the success of the Ontario Career Lab (OCL) - an innovative province-wide career exploration initiative led by HIEC that connects volunteer Career Coaches with Grade 9 and 10 students across Ontario. As the on-site lead for Ontario Career Lab sessions this role is ideal for a confident facilitator who can engage audiences create welcoming environments and deliver impactful programming. Travel will primarily be within the York and Durham regions of Ontario with occasional travel to other regions as required.

ProgramCoordinationandLogistics

  • Serveastheon-siteleadforeacheventoverseeingsetupmaterialsandvolunteerorientation.
  • Conductpre-sessionbriefingswithCareerCoachestoreviewstructureexpectationsandkeymessages.
  • Coordinatelogisticswithteachersandadministratorsensuringclarityonschedulesgroupingsandaccessibilityneeds.
  • Manageeventmaterialsincludingdistributingandcollectingresourcesandensuringreadinessoftechnologyandsupplies.


StakeholderEngagement

  • Buildstrongrelationshipswitheducatorsstudentsvolunteersandcommunitypartners.

QualificationstoSucceed:

  • FamiliaritywiththeYork/Durhamregioncommunitiesgeographyandculturalcontextishighlyvalued.
  • Experienceworkingwithyouthorineducationalsettingsisastrongasset.
  • Experienceincareercoachingemploymentcounsellingorworkforcedevelopmentisastrongasset.
  • Proficiencyindigitaltoolsforcoordinationreportingandcommunication.
  • FluencyinFrench(writtenandspoken)isanasset.
