Description:

EHS Engineer

Schedule: Onsite 2nd Shift 230/3-1030/11 PM EST

Can work 4 10 hour shifts or can consider 4 9s and a 1/2 day on Friday but 4 10 hour shifts is preferred.

Possible temp to hire.

Interview: 1st round virtual interviews 30 minutes 2nd round in person with hiring manager possible plant manager & HR manager.

Start Date: Target end of January

Top 3 Skills: Need 3-5 years good Safety Engineer Exp plus with Ergonomics bckgrnd.

Strong People/ Comm Skills this team works with EVERY the plant and will be on 2nd shift with little leadership so will need to be able to think on their feet quickly.

Someone who has strong experience in manufacturing large equipment CNC heavy fabrication backgrounds would make a great fit.

Full manufacturing assembly plant True manufacturing experience At least 3- or 5-years experience Familiar with the manufacturing environment Machinery/safety lock out tag out experience Environmental experience dealing with hazardous or non-hazardous waste Very personable good team player flexible lots of machines robotics Union facility union experience a plus

Assist with the implementation of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies practices guidelines and procedures.

Identify location-specific requirements for each area and participate in the development of related programs and policies.

Assist in developing training programs and conduct training to comply with regulatory corporate EHS initiatives.

Supervise the incident/accident investigation process including root cause analysis and ensure corrective actions are completed.

Conduct environment health and safety audits and risk assessments. Participate in external EHS compliance audits and loss prevention audits.

Coordinate the completion of all corrective actions with site personnel resulting from risk assessments compliance audits or loss prevention audits.

Liaise with facilities maintenance and property management personnel to ensure appropriate fire and life safety controls are in place and maintained.

Oversee and implement permitting requirements for air water and land jurisdictional requirements.

Serve as a site contact point for government inquiries relating to EHS. Experience/Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related field of study

Extensive knowledge of health and safety engineering processes and practices

Ability to manage and control various health and safety issues

Familiarity with ISO environment regulations and principles

Skill in evaluating and minimizing physical and chemical hazards

Ability to research and apply best industrial and working practices

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in an environmental health and safety or similar role.

Awareness of changes in laws and regulations

Strong teamwork and project leadership abilities

Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills

Effective management and multitasking capabilities

Proficiency in verbal and written communication

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel and PowerPoint) Report to EHS Manager
