THE ROLE

Our Economics & Business Studies Department is creative and forward thinking making the best use of traditional and modern methods of delivering an engaging curriculum. The successful candidate would be able to deliver both GCSE and A level Economics within an environment which has the highest academic expectations.

You will foster an environment of respect and progress within the classroom facilitating learning through activities that reflect a growth mindset.

As Business Studies and Economics Teacher your focus will be to:

• Lead initiatives to boost student participation and school spirit.
• Support enrichment activities and school events.
• Strengthen parental engagement through clear communication and progress updates.
• Deliver dynamic inclusive and effective lessons.
• Foster creativity problem-solving and design thinking.
• Use data-driven strategies to support diverse learning needs.
• Integrate digital tools to enhance learning experiences.
• Serve as a Form Tutor and contribute to the IB curriculum.
• Develop and implement curriculum-aligned lesson plans.
• Ensure rigorous assessment and timely feedback.
• Contribute to curriculum innovation and quality assurance.
• Engage in continuous professional learning.
• Reflect on practice to improve teaching effectiveness.
• Uphold school values and contribute to a positive school culture.

The Successful Candidate will possess:

• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE HDipEd or equivalent).
• Hold a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure for all countries lived in.
• Compliance with visa requirements for working.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils and a willingness to undertake appropriate child protection training when required.
