About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Adult Safeguarding Lawyer to join our friendly and supportive legal Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in protecting vulnerable adults and ensuring their rights and welfare are upheld. As part of our Legal Team you will provide specialist legal advice and representation on a range of adult safeguarding matters working closely with social care teams partner agencies and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on adult safeguarding matters including applications under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Care Act 2014.
- Representing the local authority in the Court of Protection and other relevant tribunals.
- Drafting legal documents court applications and policies related to safeguarding.
- Providing training and guidance to social care professionals on legal issues affecting vulnerable adults.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and case law developments.
- Handling judicial review matters deprivation of liberty cases and other public law challenges.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need:
- To be a qualified solicitor barrister or chartered legal executive
- At least 3 years post qualification experience in adult social care law
- Strong advocacy negotiation and communication skills.
- The ability to manage a varied and complex caseload.
- A commitment to public service and protecting vulnerable individuals.
