POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Thoracic Navigator plays a key role in supporting patients with suspected or confirmed lung disease throughout their care journey. This hybrid position functions part time as a Lung Nodule Navigator and part time as a Procedural Nurse in the Bronchoscopy the Navigator Role this position ensures patients are effectively and efficiently guided through the healthcare system from nodule detection through diagnosis and treatment by coordinating timely appointments facilitating multidisciplinary collaboration providing patient and family education and serving as a consistent point of the Procedural Nurse role this position supports Bronchoscopy Lab services by assisting with patient preparation procedural support clinical documentation and post-procedure care to promote safe high-quality outcomes. The Thoracic Navigator works collaboratively with Physicians Advanced Practice Providers Nursing and Ancillary Departments to remove barriers promote continuity of care and enhance the overall patient experience.

EDUCATION:

Graduate of a Nursing program
Basic coronary class is required

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

RN MT licensure
BLS
ACLS

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Must understand EKG cardiac arrhythmias cardiac medications and procedures.
Medical Terminology
Basic Nursing Principles and Procedures.
Keyboarding Skills
Basic Office Skills
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position
