Production Operator Lead
Position Summary
The Production Operator Lead oversees the assigned shift coordinating manufacturing processes to safely produce high-quality products efficiently while ensuring adherence to procedures and standards.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate all production equipment and computer systems within the assigned area
- Operate additional equipment as directed by management
- Ensure products are produced according to the production schedule
- Close batch tickets daily
- Lead train and support production operators
- Ensure compliance with established procedures and processes
- Assist with the Preventive Maintenance Program
- Conduct routine safety inspections and report discrepancies
- Lead cleaning efforts and maintain 5S standards
- Communicate effectively with various departments to strengthen teamwork
- Follow safety waste and chemical handling protocols
- Promote morale productivity and efficiency through positive working relationships
- Recommend improvements to equipment and processes
- Set expectations model behaviors and train operators
- Perform basic employee discipline in coordination with the Production Manager
- Complete other duties as assigned
Essential Skills & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
-
1 year of production experience
- Proficient in basic math including percentages decimals fractions and unit conversions
-
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
-
Strong organizational and time management skills
-
Forklift operation ability
-
Clear reading and writing skills
-
Commitment to company values and adherence to policies
Valued but Not Required Skills

College or technical training
-
Experience with hazardous materials
-
Forklift or HazMat certification
-
Color matching/quality assurance experience
-
Shipping and receiving experience
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
-
Work with hazardous chemicals
- Lift 55-pound bags and move 55-gallon drums using mechanical devices
- Wear a full-face respirator and required PPE (steel-toed boots hard hat safety glasses)

Stand walk or sit up to 12 hours per day
-
Willingness to work extended days or weekends
-
No travel required
