Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Fleet Controller to join our team in Cape Town. The Fleet Controller will be responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our fleet ensuring that all vehicles are well-maintained and operating efficiently. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills as well as a strong understanding of logistics and transportation processes. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the daily operations of the companys fleet including scheduling maintenance and repairs - Monitor and track vehicle routes and schedules to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods - Coordinate with drivers and other team members to ensure smooth and timely transportation services - Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance repairs and inspections - Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards - Manage fuel consumption and expenses to optimize operational costs - Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet efficiency and reduce costs - Collaborate with the procurement team to purchase new vehicles and equipment as needed - Train and supervise new drivers on company policies and procedures - Communicate with clients to provide updates on delivery schedules and resolve any issues or concerns - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelors degree in logistics supply chain management or a related field - Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet management or a similar role - Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics processes - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Proficient in using fleet management software and GPS tracking systems - Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills - Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures - Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards for transportation - Valid drivers license and clean driving record We offer a competitive salary and benefits package as well as opportunities for career growth and development.
