Job Summary
Tomlinson is currently seeking an Asphalt Plant Operator/Batcher to work at our Asphalt plants in the Ottawa area.
Vacancy Type: Replacement
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support daily asphalt production by assisting with routine activities.
- Monitor asphalt plant performance to ensure safe efficient and continuous operations.
- Safely receive and unload deliveries of liquid asphalt following established procedures.
- Perform mechanical tasks including inspecting maintaining and repairing bearings belts and related equipment.
- Assist with ongoing plant maintenance to support reliability and reduce downtime.
- Carry out additional duties at the asphalt plant as needed and directed by supervisors.
REQUIRMENTS
- Some experience as a general labourer may be required.
- Mechanical knowledge.
- Specific asphalt training.
- Welding experience is an asset.
- Batching knowledge is required.
COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The expected hourly income is between $32 - $37 per hour. Placement within the range is dependant on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working in an asphalt plant environment dusty staining from asphalt residue loud etc.
- Exposure to the elements.
- Regular work shifts are 10 - 12 hour days.
- Requires some extended shifts night work and weekend work.
- Some physical work lifting bending crouching etc.
- Working at heights.
