About the Role

Formed in 1882 Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nations most respected hospitals with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local statewide national and international communities.

The Patient Liaison Officer (PLO) is pivotal to the Local Health Districts strategy to raise additional revenue from patients electing to use their Private Health Insurance. The position is responsible for developing effective relationships with key stakeholders and providing customer focused information in relation to their financial options.

The position provides patients and staff with support in regards to patient election choices maximise patient fee revenue and ensures admitted patient financial records are complete and compliant with the National Healthcare Agreement NSW Health and LHD policies and procedures.

Ideal Candidate

  • Able to work a 7 day rotating shift across the hours of operation including public holidays.
  • Relevant experience in a revenue finance or similar position in a hospital setting with demonstrated ability to meet revenue targets.
  • Ability to critically analyse information and data provide solution based feedback and clear concise reports for management.
