The Marketing & Communications team is focused on building a distinct differentiated brand to attract andretaintop talent and partners. This also involves engaging our diverse global workforce through our intranet corporateeventsand employee communications.
Who youll work with
You will join an agile Internal Communications team and collaboratewith colleagues across the Enterprise. This role is based in our Toronto office and follows a hybrid work model.
What youll do
As aMarketing & Communications Intern (Internal Communications& Events) you will gain hands-on experience developing content and supporting events and initiatives thatengageandinspireour workforce.
A core part of this role includes writing editing publishing and managing content on our corporate intranet ON TEN and supporting other content contributors across the organization.Youllhelp plan coordinate and executea variety of internal and external events at Ontario Teachers including employee volunteer initiatives.
Youllalso gain meaningful exposure to other areas of Marketing & Communications including external communications digital marketing creative services branding and content strategy.
Day-to-day you will tackle a wide range of tasks and responsibilities including (but not limited to):
Intranet content development and management
Assistingin the development and distribution of communications across channels (intranet newsletters email digital signage)
Supporting the daily management of our intranet and content calendar
Assistingwith the distribution of the weekly employee newsletter
Coordinatingweekly team meetings
Events
Supporting the planning and execution of internal events employee initiatives and volunteer activities
Participating in ideation sessions weekly planning meetings and event development
Working with creative teams and vendors to deliver on-brand visuals signage and presentations
Developing post-event surveys and summarizing insights
General communications
Conducting research into emerging trends issues and best practices
Providing administrative and project support and contributing toadditionalinitiatives as needed
What youll need
Werelooking for candidates enrolled in aMarketing Communications Public Relations Digital Media or related programwho bring:
A passion for communications storytelling content creation or employee engagement
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail
Excellent project and time management skills
An agile mindset comfortable adapting to changing priorities iterating quickly and embracing continuous improvement
Curiosity about industry and employer-brand trends
A collaborative mindset and willingness to take initiative
Openness to experimenting learning new tools and tryingnew approaches
Proficiencyin MS Word Excel and PowerPoint (experience with ChatGPT is a bonus!)
You must be enrolled in a co-op program orreturning backto your studies after the work term is completed.

The expected hourly range for this role is $24 - $28 depending on experience and qualifications.
