Job Summary

Role:Director of Tax Operations Technology
Location:Downtown Toronto (3-4 days in office required)
Salary:up to $200000 CAD 20 % 4 weeks vacation

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy:Define and execute a forward-looking roadmap for Tax Operations Technology aligned with the banks overall digital transformation objectives.
System Implementation:Lead the deployment and modernization of tax engines automation tools and system integrations with financial and reporting platforms.
Data Management:Ensure the accuracy security and consistency of global tax data collection storage and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk:Establish and maintain robust controls to meet global tax and regulatory requirements (FATCA CRS BEPS CRA IRS etc.).
Innovation & Automation:Champion the use of automation AI and analytics to optimize tax forecasting reconciliation and scenario modeling capabilities.
Cross-Functional Leadership:Partner with global teams in Tax Finance IT and Risk to deliver scalable and compliant tax technology solutions.
Modern Delivery Practices:Embed modern frameworks including Agile Lean Design Thinking and DevOps to enhance delivery efficiency and team collaboration.
Culture & People Leadership:Build and inspire a high-performing inclusive team (57 staff) that is motivated empowered and aligned to the banks purpose and values.
Strategic Communication:Clearly articulate the banks vision risk culture and business strategy ensuring team alignment and accountability at all levels.
Portfolio Oversight:Balance project capacity and demand while ensuring timely execution of initiatives that span multiple systems dependencies and global stakeholders.
Program Delivery:Oversee the development and implementation of complex technology programs managing Project Managers Developers and Business Analysts.
Executive Communication:Deliver clear outcome-driven communication to executive and business leadership providing transparency on progress risks and opportunities.
Coaching & Development:Foster a growth mindset through mentorship succession planning and continuous professional development within the team.

Must Have Experience Required:

10 years of experience in tax technology or related roles with at least 3 years in leadership positions.
Proven track record of implementing tax technology solutions in financial institutions
Strong knowledge of global tax regulations and compliance frameworks.
