Job Summary

ALBEMARLE COUNTY SERVICE AUTHORITY

HAS THE FOLLOWING EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE:

SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Position Summary: Provides high level support for information systems including computer server network and telecommunications systems. Performs hardware and software evaluation installation maintenance and tuning. Assists with the design monitoring and implementation of IT security systems to protect the ACSAs information systems from cyber-attacks. Serves as departmental liaison with internal staff and external agencies and vendors on the implementation integration operation maintenance and control of complex computer operating systems.

Duties Include: Working directly with Director of Information Technology in planning design and support of ACSA Information Systems verifying systems performance and operations managing and maintaining employee information; Maintaining e-mail active directory and backup for servers Microsoft 365 and other cloud applications maintaining and upgrading servers and phone systems as needed; Serving as project manager or providing direct support as an active partner for technology-related projects; Provide security data management for the LAN/WAN environments; Monitoring antivirus software; Installing Microsoft Security updates.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and 5-7 years experience in related field; Thorough knowledge in hardware and software systems and programs network design and administration system troubleshooting cyber and physical security and disaster recovery; Abilities in systems administration and system design; intermediate to advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking; knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft platforms including but not limited to Windows desktop OS Windows Server OS Windows SQL server and Microsoft 365; Ability to install configure and maintain computers servers and associated applications and peripherals; Familiarity with mobile device technologies; Strong oral and written communication skills.

Hiring Range $74997 - $89996
