Youll lead a dynamic team supporting the development of digital skills across the organisation with a particular focus on nurturing and developing less experienced officers.

The purpose of this role is to lead on in digital skills and learning across Fife Council with a particular focus on championing digital transformation digital leadership and leading the Digital Champions programme. As DSLT Lead Officer you will not only drive the development and delivery of innovative training and learning initiatives but also play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing your team and the wider network of Digital Champions.

You will be responsible for steering collaborative project work and offering expert consultancy to meet Corporate and Directorate priorities in digital skills learning digital optimisation and transformation. Central to your role is the empowerment and professional growth of less experienced officers trainees and Digital Champions providing coaching guidance and support to help them reach their full potential and become effective advocates for digital change.

Your leadership will foster a culture of continuous learning collaboration and excellence. You will design deliver and evaluate transformational training programmes and activities including courses webinars bitesize/micro learning and other creative solutions. From initial concept through to implementation and ongoing improvement. Through your mentoring and team development efforts you will ensure that both individual services and the wider organisation benefit from enhanced digital capability and a strong supportive learning environment.

Your main duties will include:

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for delivering digital skills and learning programmes across Fife Council.

  • Play a key role in developing less experienced officers and trainees providing coaching mentoring and professional leadership to support their growth and confidence.

  • Set clear targets organise workloads and ensure the team delivers on agreed priorities.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous professional development.

  • Oversee the design delivery and evaluation of digital skills training ensuring programmes meet the needs of both individuals and the wider organisation.

  • Work closely with partners and stakeholders to drive digital transformation and organisational development.

Youll be expected to:

  • Provide regular feedback and support to team members helping them achieve their potential.

  • Ensure all team members have the knowledge to design and deliver high-quality training.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of digital skills offerings and learning strategies.

The Person

Essential:

  • Considerable experience in managing and developing a team including less experienced staff and trainees.

  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Educated to SCQF Level 9 (Degree or equivalent) ideally with a qualification in IT or management.

  • Experience in project management and the design and delivery of digital skills programmes and training.

  • Ability to organise and monitor team performance set targets and deliver to deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a range of audiences.

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive team culture.

Desirable:

  • Experience in designing and delivering digital skills training.

  • Knowledge of contract management and procurement.

Other requirements:

  • Ability to travel within Fife.
