Summary:
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior / Principal Planning Officer to join a busy Development Management team within Planning and Environmental Health. The role involves managing complex and major planning applications advising applicants and stakeholders handling enforcement matters and appeals and supporting the management of an area team. You will play a key role in maintaining high planning standards and delivering decisions within government targets.
Responsibilities:
- Process and determine planning applications including major or controversial proposals
- Prepare reports and present cases at Sub-Committee hearings and inquiries
- Investigate enforcement matters and manage planning appeals
- Provide professional advice to applicants developers architects and stakeholders
- Support supervision of Planning Officers and assist with workload management
Essential Requirements:
- Significant experience in Development Management including major applications
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation and Local Government procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure
- Full driving licence and access to own vehicle
- Ability to attend evening Committee meetings

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
