Notice of Vacancy ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPALBROOKFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICTAnticipated Start Date: July 1 2026REPORTS TO: Superintendent RESPONSIBILITIES: The Principal serves as the educational leader of the school administering all facets of its instructional program as well as supporting building needs and policy requirements. The school serves approximately 300 students and their families from the town of Brookfield. The ideal leader will nurture an environment that focuses on rigorous learning expectations open communication and developmentally appropriate student supports. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Implements federal and state laws administrative regulations and school committee policies as they apply to the local schoolSupervises the delivery of instruction to students ensuring that teachers focus on the district curriculum and the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks to meet student needs and requirementsSupervises and evaluates certified and non-certified personnel assigned to the schoolDemonstrates fiduciary responsibility through effective development and management of the budget and school activity fundsEffectively manages an efficient office and record-keeping systemEncourages and facilitates faculty and staff professional growthFosters positive student parent and staff relationshipsEncourages positive public relations within and outside the schoolHires and recommends highly qualified staff membersExercises leadership necessary to make the school facility a safe attractive and productive place in which to learn and workDevelops and implements a fair and consistent system for student disciplineAttends school committee meetings as requiredMaintains currency in education practices and invests in ones own professional developmentSupports the diverse needs of all students including those with Special Education Social-Emotional and ELL needsFamiliarity with RTI and Inclusive PracticesFacilitates student support meetingsProvides supplemental academic support to targeted students Performs other duties as assigned by the SuperintendentABILITY TO: utilize collaborative leadership stylemaintain open lines of communication with the superintendent and pertinent central office administrators regarding school-based issuesengage with all students families and community membersmanage the proper and efficient use and conservation of all assets and resources assigned to the schooldemonstrate effective command of technology use as well as written and oral language QUALIFICATIONS:Massachusetts Principals License at the Elementary LevelEvidence of ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
