Job Summary
As a Senior Maintenance Planner you will be responsible for developing and executing maintenance strategies for a variety of underground mining equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability. This includes:
Drilling Equipment (Jumbo and Long Hole)
Loading Equipment
Hauling Equipment
Ancillary Equipment
Your goal is to ensure planned maintenance and component replacements meet performance targets such as equipment availability and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF).
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
Schedule and plan routine maintenance in collaboration with Production and Maintenance teams.
Track component age and condition using the Pronto CMMS.
Create and manage Bills of Materials (BoMs).
Maintenance Strategy & Execution
Maintain accurate routine maintenance data in Pronto.
Create and manage work orders and requisitions.
Expedite parts and labor as needed.
Budgeting & Cost Control
Assist in developing the annual budget using Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB).
Provide cost and component updates for budget reforecasting.
Reporting & Analysis
Report monthly on key performance indicators: availability MTBF component usage and cost.
Analyze historical data to support lifecycle planning and budgeting.
Collaboration & Compliance
Liaise with suppliers and contractors.
Ensure compliance with company and government policies.
Provide input and adhere to the Oceana Asset Management Framework (AMF).
Qualifications :
Required
510 years of maintenance experience (preferably in mining).
2 years of experience in computer-based planning/scheduling.
Valid drivers license.
Technical qualification in Engineering or Asset Management (highly regarded).
Preferred
Direct experience with underground mining equipment especially Sandvik Normet and Caterpillar.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in MS Office Suite Pronto and Xeras (or similar ZBB tools).
Familiarity with planning tools such as Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) BoMs and work packs.
