The Role
SMEC are looking for aSenior Systems Safety Assurance Engineerto join our rail team based in our North Sydney office. You will have the opportunity to deliver various projects across rail light rail roads & highways. This role involves day to day tasks related to system safety systems engineering and safety engineering.
With a track record of achievement in a similar role you will have gained your experience in an engineering consultancy and have a passion for building trusted relationships to drive positive change and win new work. As a Senior Engineer you will:
- Prepare system safety assurance plans.
- Prepare system assurance reports.
- Facilitate risk assessment workshops.
- Provide system safety assurance advice and support to projects meeting the requirements outlines in the Rail Safety National Law and WHS Act.
- Collaborate with appropriate team members contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality timeliness and co-ordination of project deliverables.
- Apply project management principles in carrying out assigned tasks and accomplish project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner.
Suitable Applicants Will Have/be
- Bachelors degree in engineering
- Min of 5 years experience working on rail projects with an understanding of TAO requirements
- Good understanding of EN20126 / 28/29 standards
- Experience facilitating risk assessment workshops (PHA/SHA IHA OSHA and CHAIR)
- Experience preparing and managing hazard log including ADCs and SFAIRP justifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
