Machine Operator / General Laborer
Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm (overtime on Saturdays and up to 12 hr shifts as needed)
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Machine Operator/General Laborer to set up operate and tend various production machinesincluding plodder and tuber machinesto shape and form rubber plastics and related materials. This role also includes general labor duties such as moving materials maintaining work areas and supporting production operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Set up and adjust machine components including speeds pressures temperatures material flow and dimensions.
Monitor machine operations gauges and indicator lights to identify malfunctions.
Operate machinery by pressing control buttons and adjusting controls for air pressure vacuums and coolant flow.
Review work orders and specifications to determine materials procedures and machine settings.
Examine measure and weigh materials or products using templates micrometers scales and other measuring tools to ensure quality standards.
Record and maintain production data such as meter readings quantities and material dimensions.
Notify supervisors when products do not meet quality standards.
Synchronize machine speeds for multi-step production processes.
Clear jams and remove defective or substandard materials.
Move materials supplies and finished products using racks hoists hand trucks or other equipment.
Clean dies molds compression chambers and related equipment using swabs sponges or air hoses.
Perform general labor tasks as needed including manual material handling.
Complete other duties as assigned by management.
General Labor Tasks
Move freight stock and materials to and from production areas storage docks or delivery vehicles manually or with equipment.
Sort cargo before loading or unloading.
Attach identifying tags or markings to containers.
Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to determine tasks and material needs.
Record units handled using production sheets or work tickets.
Install protective devices (bracing padding strapping) to prevent product damage.
Attach slings hooks or lifting devices and guide loads safely.
Maintain equipment storage areas and ensure inventory protection.
Pack and re-pack containers including damaged ones.
Retrieve and return tools and supplies as needed.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Previous machine operation or manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
Ability to lift move and handle materials safely.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
