Amazon runs one of the worlds most complex eCommerce platforms where operational efficiency directly drives profitability and customer satisfaction. Efficiency is foundational to Amazons DNA reflected in the Leadership Principle of Frugality and the Flywheel strategy that lowers cost structures to accelerate growth. With the cost of operating Amazons global infrastructure measured in billions of dollars achieving true economies of scale rather than allowing scale to increase costs is essential to sustaining our competitive advantage.
The Alloy team serves as Amazons central efficiency organization leading company-wide cost optimization through intelligent and automated use of AWS resources. Our work spans thousands of internal services enabling large-scale efficiency improvements with minimal engineering effort from partner teams. We drive optimization across multiple layers of Amazons technology stack focusing on GPU efficiency infrastructure for AI/ML workloads through centralized scheduling software performance profiling and end-to-end storage optimization through data lifecycle management. These cross-cutting initiatives transform isolated team efforts into scalable secure and reusable systems that deliver sustained efficiency gains across Amazon.
As a Technical Program Manager III in Alloy you will lead the execution of large-scale cross-functional programs that identify and eliminate performance and efficiency bottlenecks across Amazons distributed systems. You will bridge the gap between technical vision and operational reality partnering with Principal Engineers and infrastructure teams to define roadmaps and drive high-impact initiatives across multiple organizations. By influencing architectural decisions and shaping company-wide optimization strategies you will deliver solutions that enhance performance at scale. Your leadership in program delivery and stakeholder management will directly impact how Amazons services operate globally driving measurable cost savings in the tens to hundreds of millions of dollars annually while advancing our commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
