KBR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Senior Group 5 Air Vehicle Pilot (AVP) in Patuxent River MD supporting UX-24 and the Futures Advanced Capabilities this role the selected candidate will identify develop integrate test and transition next generation unmanned and collaborative strike systems under PEO (U&W) bridging initial concepts through advanced development and operational test to fleet readiness.

Our highly talented and experienced aircrew services team has provided over 40 continuous years of Aircrew project support at Patuxent River. As a long-term incumbent and leader in flight test the selected applicant will work within the NAVAIR test community composed of government military contractor and industry personnel while supporting flight test.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • This position supports Developmental Test and Evaluation at UX-24 in support of Naval Test Wing Atlantic and the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) located at NAS Patuxent River MD.

  • Perform flying duties of a Group 5 AVP and all aspects of project officer duties for UX-24.

  • Support a wide range of NAWCAD test and evaluation requirements to include test planning meetings test plan development event planning test procedure and card development flight briefings test execution post event support test reporting and deficiency reporting.

  • Robust domestic travel will be required in support of flight test activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • Must be a graduate of USN or USAF Test Pilot School

  • Minimum seven to ten (7-10) years of aviation experience.

  • Past (required) or current (desired) Group 5 AVP qualification.

  • Masters degree required.

  • Top Secret Clearance required; applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

  • Must be able to maintain an FAA Class II medical certificate or military equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Twelve (12) years of RDT&E with previous Cat C/D flight test experience is desired.

  • Current Group 5 UAS aircraft qualification and recent experience with mission systems T&E techniques concepts principles and practices preferred.

  • A minimum of 500 flight hours in Group 4/5 unmanned aircraft preferred.

  • Candidate must be able to organize and demonstrate effective oral and written communications and operate in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and similar computer-based productivity applications.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Basic Compensation: $155000-$214000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidates location knowledge skills abilities and/or experience contract affordability and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses commissions or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus relocation benefits short term incentives long term incentives or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
