Position Overview:
The product development teamis responsible fordesigning battery pack modules and system enclosures that define the direction of our future products. Itis also responsible formaintainingand supportingcurrent productionprograms toprovide design-focused support and technical issue resolution.
As a member of this engineering team you will work ina leadrole whois responsible fordriving the mechanical design system architecture structural integritydesign documentation manufacturabilityof battery packsto ensure that we follow entire product development cycle till successful launch. This role combines deep mechanical engineeringexpertisewith strong systems thinking cross-functional leadership and a drive for innovation and product excellence. You will be thecomponentmanager from the concept through production ensuring compliance with safety regulatory thermal vibration structural and manufacturability requirements.
About the Role You will:
- Design high quality mechanical and electromechanical part and assembly designs efficiently and with good modeling practices
- Develop cost effectiveinnovativeand weight-optimized structural solutions to meet thermal NVH and crash safety requirements
- Create and manage detailed engineering drawings/design data (3D and 2D) utilizing Catia 3DExperience (3DX) by applying a high standard of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Generate detailedDFMEAandDVP&Rdocumentation
- Responsible for the development of technical project plans and schedules covering engineering activities meeting all design control and product development SOP requirements
- Support the transition of designs from prototype to high-volume manufacturing focusing on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as a subject expert within the mechanical engineering team
Your Experience Includes:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;Bachelorswith 10 years ORMasterswith 8 industry experience in mechanical design
- Proficient in 3D CAD design and 2D drafting (includingGD&Tand Datum structuring) of mechanical components (CATIA experience is preferred)
- Knowledgeable in high and low volume manufacturing methods especially in aluminum casting extrusion stamping forging injectionmoldingetc.
- Deep understanding of structural mechanics fatigue analysis thermal managementprinciplesand ability to interpret FEA/CFDanalysis results
- Strong background withDFMEA PFMEA tolerance stack-upetc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to perform root cause analysis
Additional Desired Skills:
- Experience in high voltage battery systems energystorageor EV industry
- Knowledge of battery electrical components (cells modules current collectors busbars module too pack integrationetc)
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes unique to battery pack construction (e.g. laser welding potting sealing)
