About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on General Manager Finance Operations to lead and optimise day-to-day finance operations including payroll management financial reporting and business partnering. This role offers the opportunity to drive continuous improvement champion process efficiencies and provide strategic financial insights to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance Operations & Leadership:

• Lead and develop the finance team fostering accountability and high performance
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable cash flow payroll and transactional processes
• Drive process improvement automation and digital transformation

Payroll (Critical Requirement):

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing and compliance with Australian legislation Fair Work Act Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements
• Ensure correct employee classifications remuneration rostering impacts data integrity reconciliations audit trails and payroll calendars
• Oversee monthly and annual payroll reconciliations PAYG withholding STP reporting super payroll tax and end-of-year processes
• Support employee salary structuring and payroll-related financial decisions

Group Consolidation & Reporting:

• Lead multi-entity consolidation including intercompany transactions eliminations and reconciliations
• Deliver accurate consolidated reporting aligned to group rolling forecasts

Audit Tax & Compliance:

• Lead annual statutory audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards and governance requirements
• Oversee group-level direct and indirect tax matters

Manufacturing Costing & Performance:

• Manage complex manufacturing costing processes across multiple business units
• Ensure accurate cost allocation margin analysis and P&L reporting

What Were Looking For:

• CPA/CA qualified (or equivalent) with a relevant Accounting Commerce or Business degree.
• 8 10 years experience in finance roles including a minimum of 5 years in a Finance Manager or similar leadership position.
• Hands-on experience in financial operations reporting budgeting forecasting and cash flow management.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience partnering with business units to provide actionable financial insights.
• Proven success in process improvement finance system implementation and digitalisation projects.
• Experience managing audits compliance and governance processes in complex or multi-entity environments.
• Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
