Schedule: MondayFriday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours/week (8 hours/day)
Pay Rate: $50 $55 per hour
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist for a 13-week contract assignment in New York NY. The therapist will be responsible for delivering prescribed radiation treatments safely and accurately while providing high-quality patient care in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Administer therapeutic radiation treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist
Verify treatment prescriptions for accuracy dosage and technical integrity
Prepare treatment rooms equipment and patient immobilization devices
Perform patient setup localization and verification using radiographic or electronic imaging
Take interpret and submit port/beam images for physician review and approval
Maintain accurate daily treatment documentation and record/verify systems
Perform chart checks and report discrepancies promptly
Conduct daily quality assurance and safety checks per regulatory guidelines
Monitor patient condition during treatment and report any adverse reactions
Maintain continuous visual and auditory communication with patients during treatment
Explain procedures clearly to patients and provide reassurance as needed
Identify and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate clinical and physics staff
Maintain a clean organized and fully stocked treatment area
Assist with student instruction evaluations chart rounds and scheduling as required
Participate in chart rounds in-services and training sessions
Demonstrate professional conduct and patient-centered care at all times
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in therapeutic radiation therapy
Hands-on experience with Varian TrueBeam technology
Proficiency using MOSAIQ EMR
Ability to perform basic dose calculations using computer software
Strong knowledge of radiation safety QA procedures and treatment equipment
Education & Certification
Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy program
