Basic Job Functions:
The Second Helper responsibilities consist of but is not limited to assisting the team with the operations and maintenance of the EAF assisting in up-set conditions sanding ladles preparing and analyzing slag samples making sure the furnace deck has needed supplies operating an overhead crane and dropping charges general housekeeping and a variety of other tasks related to the successful operation of the Melt Shop. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and unscheduled overtime rotating shifts weekends and holidays as scheduled.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current or previous experience working in Melt Shop
