Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a full-time contract assignment located in Rancho Mirage California. This opportunity is ideal for new graduates or experienced technologists looking to gain experience in a well-established acute-care medical center serving the greater Palm Springs area.
Assignment Details
- Schedule: Day shift 5x8s with rotating weekends
- Hours: 40 hours per week
Job Summary
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient care radiation safety and clinical documentation in an acute-care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain exam processes
- Operate nuclear medicine cameras and auxiliary imaging equipment
- Prepare calculate and administer radiopharmaceuticals
- Calculate radioactive decay and analyze patient study data
- Monitor patients during procedures and provide appropriate care
- Start IV lines and follow proper injection protocols
- Document clinical history symptoms and procedural details
- Adhere to radiation safety policies and regulatory guidelines
- Perform equipment calibration and quality control checks
- Maintain inventory and documentation of radiopharmaceutical materials
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications
- ARRT or NMTCB or ASCP
- Active California State License
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
Education
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
Experience
- Required: New Graduate
- Preferred: 1 3 years of Nuclear Medicine experience
