Full time HPE Teacher & Director of Junior Rugby

The Southport School one of Queenslands leading schools for boys is seeking a dedicated and highly-skilled primary school trained Health and Physical Education specialist for a full time teaching position within the Preparatory School commencing in 2026 (start date negotiable).
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate primary school educator with a willingness to go above and beyond and who fully understand the benefits of building positive relationships with their students across the breadth of the schools comprehensive academic pastoral and co-curricular program.
The successful candidate will have an outstanding knowledge of relevant curriculum and teaching pedagogy and be excited by the opportunity to be part of a professional learning community. An understanding and appreciation of the learning styles of boys would be considered an advantage and as a member of the TSS team.
To be considered for this HPE position the successful candidate will have a genuine passion for Health and Physical Education and sports coaching in the Primary Years. Teaching duties will include teaching from Preschool to Year 6. We are seeking an outstanding professional who is confident teaching across a range of sports and will be a role model within the department and across the wider Preparatory school community.
The successful candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the co-curricular sporting program throughout the year. This added responsibility carries with it additional remuneration dependent on the level of involvement. Experience in one or more of the following Sports in desirable but not essential: Basketball Cricket Tennis Football Rugby or Track and Field.
Currently the full-time role incorporates the position of Director of Rugby Preparatory School (Club Rugby and GPS Programs) for which additional remuneration and time release are provided. It is the Schools preference that this arrangement continues as this role represents a unique opportunity for an outstanding educator to demonstrate their leadership capabilities.
