Mission

The Purchasing Manager ensures operational continuity and purchasing excellence within the assigned plant and country scope. The role drives cost optimization risk management and sustainability through effective sourcing strategies competitive bidding and high-impact supplier negotiations while aligning local purchasing activities with global and regional purchasing strategies.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Sourcing and Value Creation

  • Lead and execute the end-to-end Source-to-Contract process for the assigned purchasing portfolio.
  • Analyze and manage all categories of spend to drive continuous improvement in cost quality risk and sustainability.
  • Organize and lead competitive RFQs and RFPs managing bidding processes to secure optimal commercial outcomes.
  • Negotiate contracts and commercial terms delivering cost savings cost avoidance and improved contractual conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with global category leaders and regional procurement heads across raw materials indirect spend logistics energy and CAPEX.

2. Supplier and Stakeholder Partnership

  • Act as the single point of contact for local operations and business management on all purchasing matters.
  • Build and manage supplier panels to ensure performance competition and supply chain risk mitigation.
  • Lead supplier negotiations and relationship management to support operational continuity and long-term partnerships.
  • Support supplier qualification local trials supplier quality management (in collaboration with QC/QA) and new supplier development.
  • Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives in coordination with operations supply chain quality and finance teams.

3. Governance Performance and Operational Excellence

  • Deploy and implement global and regional purchasing strategies at country and plant level in full compliance with group policies.
  • Ensure high levels of internal customer satisfaction through responsive service and purchasing excellence.
  • Monitor analyze and report purchasing KPIs savings and financial performance at country level.
  • Drive continuous improvement in purchasing processes tools and governance.
  • Support regional purchasing coordination activities including collaboration with the Korea sales office when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Supply Chain or a related field.
  • 7 years of experience in purchasing sourcing or procurement preferably in an industrial or international environment.
  • Proven experience in competitive bidding (RFQ/RFP) and strong negotiation skills with a track record of measurable savings and value creation.
  • Maritime or logistics purchasing experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical and systematic approach to problem solving and spend analysis.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence internal and external decision-makers at multiple levels.
  • Proactive results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High standards of integrity ethics and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a professional business environment.
