We are working in partnership with a well-established Chartered Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy as they continue to strengthen their senior leadership team across the Southwest and South Wales. Known for delivering smart commercially driven engineering solutions the consultancy supports a diverse client base on projects throughout the UK.
With offices in Bristol Cardiff and Bridgend the business promotes a highly collaborative culture where technical excellence professional integrity and long-term client relationships are fundamental to successful project delivery.
The Role
This opportunity is ideal for an accomplished Principal or Associate-level Civil Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects teams and client relationships. You will have a key role in leading technical delivery guiding project teams and supporting existing clients while also contributing to the ongoing growth and direction of the consultancy.
The role combines hands-on engineering with leadership and strategic involvement making it well suited to someone looking to solidify or progress their position within senior consultancy leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of civil engineering projects across a range of sectors
- Lead mentor and develop small to medium-sized teams to ensure high technical standards and efficient delivery
- Act as a trusted technical lead and main point of contact for key clients
- Manage project performance including programmes resources and financial control
- Provide technical oversight mentoring and line management to junior and mid-level engineers
- Work closely with architects contractors and statutory authorities
- Ensure compliance with current standards legislation and industry best practice
- Contribute to the continued growth profile and reputation of the consultancy
About You
- Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Chartered status (ICE or equivalent preferred)
- Extensive experience within a UK civil engineering consultancy
- Demonstrable experience leading teams and managing projects from inception to completion
- Strong technical background in infrastructure drainage and highways design
- Commercially astute with confidence in managing client relationships
- Comfortable operating at a senior level within a multidisciplinary environment
- Proficient in industry-standard civil engineering design software
