Rangatahi Transitions Champion

 In this role you will be:

Building strong real relationships with rangatahi (1517) from complex backgrounds

Supporting rangatahi to set goals and create pathways into employment training or education

Opening doors with employers and training providers across Hamilton Waikato

Cold-calling visiting worksites and creating opportunities where others dont

Supporting rangatahi into jobs or training and working with our team to stay alongside them after placement

Providing mentoring accountability and pastoral care when things get tough

Working closely with whaanau and the Oho Mauri team to wrap support around each young person and also helping out with the van drop offs between 3pm to 4.30pm

Qualifications :

This role is for someone who is:

A natural connector can walk into any space and build trust fast

Firm but fair structured consistent and calm under pressure

Resilient thick-skinned patient and not easily discouraged

Community-minded knows (or can quickly learn) the Hamilton Waikato employment and training landscape

A mentor at heart passionate about helping rangatahi find their worth and direction

Backgrounds in youth work coaching employment mentoring personal training or military service are a strong advantage.

Youll need:

Experience supporting youth or adults into employment training or life pathways

Confidence building relationships with employers and industry partners

Strong communication and organisation skills

Cultural competence and confidence working within kaupapa Maaori

A full and clean NZ drivers licence
