The Logistics Coordinator is in charge of overseeing coordinating and improving the flow of goods materials and information to make sure that deliveries are made on time and at the lowest possible cost. This job from home includes coordinating shipments keeping track of inventory talking to vendors and carriers and helping with supply chain operations. The Logistics Coordinator works with other teams inside the company to make sure that logistics run smoothly and that all rules safety and organizational standards are followed.
Main Duties:
Work with carriers vendors and internal teams to plan and coordinate shipments.
Keep an eye on inventory shipments and delivery status and report on them.
As needed make and keep shipping papers invoices and customs papers up to date.
Make sure you follow all federal state and local rules including those about transportation and safety.
Talk to carriers suppliers and customers ahead of time about the status of shipments or problems.
Quickly fix problems with shipments inventory or deliveries
Work with the procurement warehouse and operations teams to improve the way logistics work.
Keep accurate records of logistics activities in the right systems or software
Look at logistics data to find patterns problems and ways to make processes better.
Help with special projects seasonal spikes in demand and operational initiatives
Necessary Skills:
A bachelors degree in business administration logistics supply chain management or a related field (or the same amount of experience)
At least two to four years of experience coordinating transportation logistics or the supply chain
Good at organizing solving problems and doing more than one thing at once
Knowledge of logistics inventory and ERP systems (like SAP Oracle or something similar)
Great skills in both speaking and writing
Ability to work alone and manage time well when working from home
Knowing the rules for shipping what carriers need and how to move things
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with shipping goods internationally and filling out customs paperwork
Knowledge of how to use freight forwarding courier services and warehouses
A certification in logistics or supply chain management such as APICS/CSCP CLTD or something similar
Analytical skills for improving routing inventory and cost-effectiveness
Pay for the Year:
Depending on experience qualifications and where you live the salary range is between $55000 and $80000 per year.
