Role Overview

A supportive and inclusive primary school in Hounslow is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of special educational needs. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with children who require additional support to access learning manage emotions and develop independence within a mainstream primary setting.

You will be working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) SEMH needs ADHD and mild to moderate learning difficulties. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or through small group interventions depending on pupil needs and EHCP requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent SEN support within the classroom and intervention spaces

  • Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies

  • Assist with differentiated learning activities and curriculum access

  • Promote communication social interaction and independence

  • Implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans

  • Work closely with teachers SENCo and external professionals

  • Support pupils during transitions breaktimes and structured routines

  • Maintain accurate observations and contribute to SEN reviews

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting

  • Calm patient and resilient approach to challenging situations

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to follow structured behaviour and SEN support plans

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and child development

  • Willingness to engage in training and professional development

Candidates with backgrounds in education childcare psychology youth work or care are encouraged to apply.
