Scope of Project

Project Lighthouse backfill to maintain IRMS legacy systems and develop interfaces between GenTax and IRMS systems during the modernization period to support all four rollouts.

The Senior PowerBuilder Developer will provide analysis support and maintenance for the IRMS legacy system as well as design develop and implement the GenTax IRMS interface under the direction of Virginia Department of Taxation management. The resource will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined Agile development team.

Responsibilities:

Analyze support and maintain IRMS legacy PowerBuilder applications
Design and develop interfaces between GenTax and IRMS systems
Participate in Agile/Scrum development activities
Contribute to detailed design and architectural discussions
Work independently and collaboratively with developers business analysts and team leads
Ensure development of clear maintainable and well-documented code

Required/Preferred Skills:

Required Skills:

Hands-on experience developing PowerBuilder applications (PowerBuilder 12.5 or higher) 7 years
Strong experience designing and developing clear maintainable code 7 years
Experience with Team Foundation Server / Azure DevOps for version control and ALM 5 years
Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle 19c or higher MySQL or similar) 7 years
Experience working in Agile/Scrum project management environments 2 years
Strong written and verbal communication skills 2 years
Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment 2 years
Strong attention to detail with a results-driven mindset 2 years

Highly Preferred Skills:

Product and/or functional knowledge of the IRMS system 7 years
Experience designing developing and maintaining tax processing and revenue management systems
