Patient Care Technician-Intensive Care Unit-Lutheran

Shift: Weekend Package 16-24 hours Saturday/Sunday days

Under the supervision of an RN provides direct patient care. Applies knowledge and skills by focusing on patients personal care activity nutrition hydration elimination and prevention of health complications. Offers exceptional service and support to patients and their families during times of physical and cognitive ill health. Successful performance contributes to a holistic approach to the delivery of services improved patient care and a high level of satisfaction from patients and families.

• PCTs will perform patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including but not limited to activities of daily living mobility specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
• Possess the ability to lift move position and transport patients.
• Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care patient and employee safety and customer service.
• Team members under the age of 18 may not independently operate mechanical lift equipment.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• 75 Hour Basic CNA Course
• Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire
• Valid Drivers License

• Must be 18 years old or older
• Level 3 Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
