Description

The City of Visalia Parks & Recreation Department is recruiting for seasonal aquatics positions that work varying hours days and shifts depending on position and program needs during the aquatics season 2026 (March - August).

Examples of Duties

THE POSITIONS
Under general supervision ensures the safety of patrons of aquatic facilities by preventing and responding to emergencies. Provide courteous and expeditious customer service to the general public and City department staff. Supervise swimming activities in and around City facilities. Rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning; administers first aid in the event of injury.

Assists in cleaning the pool related facilities and equipment. May instruct classes in the fundamentals of swimming. Routinely adheres to and maintains a positive attitude towards the City and Department goals and performs other related work as required.

Assistant Swim Coach $16.90 - $17.90/hr DOQ

Program Assistant - Aquatics $18.90 - $20.90/hr DOQ

Pool Manager $19.90 - $21.90/hr DOQ

Lifeguard / Swim Instructor $16.90 - $17.90/hr DOQ
Application Deadline: April 5 2026

Head Lifeguard $18.40 - $19.90/hr DOQ
Application Deadline: April 5 2026

Additional Information

Successful candidates will be required to pass a criminal background investigation TB physical examination and drug screen for all positions.
