Shifts: Rotating

The Patient Care Technician CNA performs routine and specialized tasks in providing direct patient care under the functional direction of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the patient with changing/dressing.
• Transports the patient by stretcher bed or wheelchair (this is a large part of the job)
• Identifies abnormal findings that could adversely affect surgical and patient outcomes including abnormal vital signs Accucheck results lab EKG and CXR results
• Report all abnormal findings to the appropriate nursing staff.
• Escorts patients to holding rooms.
• Assists with patient changing and removal of belongings such as jewelry dentures contact lenses etc.
• Verifies patient information.
• Orients patients and families to the environment
• Obtains vital signs.

Qualifications:

• Current Maryland CNA certification
• CPR certification - AHA Red Cross or Military Training Network accepted.
• Six months of previous experience as a PCT patient aide or geriatric nursing assistant or currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed basic technician training in nursing.

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum / will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
