Position Summary
The McKeesport Area School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to support the academic social emotional and behavioral needs of students across all grade levels. This position plays a critical role in fostering an inclusive supportive learning environment through assessment consultation intervention and collaboration with students families and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct psychological and academic assessments to evaluate student strengths needs and eligibility for special education services.
Collaborate with educators administrators and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Provide counseling and intervention services to support students mental health and well-being.
Partner with teachers and administrators to develop strategies addressing academic and behavioral challenges.
Deliver consultation and professional development to staff on topics such as trauma-informed practices behavior management and inclusive education.
Support crisis intervention efforts and provide immediate assistance during critical incidents.
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with district state and federal requirements.
Qualifications
Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
Valid Pennsylvania School Psychologist Certification (or eligibility to obtain).
Experience in a school setting preferred but not required.
Knowledge of special education laws psychological assessments and evidence-based intervention practices.
Strong communication collaboration and problem-solving skills.
