Taft LA - ASUAir Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen nitrogen hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals petrochemicals refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

Job Duties:
Provide visible HSE leadership to site technicians and actively champion the Life Critical Safety system (LCS) Works to achieve Zero Accidents
Operate plant safely reliably efficiently and in compliance with Air Liquide policies; maintain health safety environmental and regulatory compliance as directed by local/corporate personnel safety departments
Provide regulatory training and maintain required regulatory documentation (ISO documentation RMP MOC etc)
Support/comply with all process safety management and risk management plan practices (EIS PSM MOC ARA IMS etc)
Ensure all plant incidents are reported investigated and corrective actions are completed
Keep plant hazard analysis current and display thorough knowledge of possible hazards and associated safeguards. Compliance with EIS requirements.
Own key operating documents (P&IDs PFDs Electrical One-lines); maintain updated red-lines at all times; display detailed understanding of content and significance of each document
Leader in site Safe Work Permit (SWP) and Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Programs
Ensure GTs are understood and followed by the plant staff
Support operations with engineering support including MOC creation small project management and action item completion
Ensure operating procedures are followed/updated as needed
Ensure operating rounds are completed each shift consistently actions are taken as required
Perform process troubleshooting; make plant/process decisions to meet plant production needs
Identify/recommend process changes; implement plant projects as required to improve plant HSE reliability efficiency
Partner with Reliability Center to execute predictive/preventive maintenance to eliminate catastrophic failures/unplanned maintenance
Set/maintain high housekeeping standards
Act as plant manager during their absence
Complete assigned action items from audits and other sources on time
Understand monitor optimize operating costs within authorized budget
Participate in maintenance and capital planning process
Develop cost/economic justification for capital projects; execute capital projects within time/budget requirements
Continuously monitor/improve efficiency availability
Utilize national purchasing and frame agreements
Assist with training new technicians on the process
Provide candid constructive input to management decisions; actively support those decisions
Insist on adherence to administrative and operational policies/procedures
Complete Personal Development System goals as defined in annual review
General Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Engineering required (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
2 years of process industry experience
Technical/working understanding of ASU plant process/rotating equipment
Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management EPA regulations state/local regulations)
Ability to lead root cause analysis investigations
Familiarity with Google Maximo Oracle Cost Reporting and Purchasing
Trainable on Distributed Control System (DCS) operation/troubleshooting
Able to deliver/explain training material to operating personnel
Organized; effective at time management
Able to maintain a plant filing system and control of engineering documents
Ability to read/red-line key operating documents (P&IDs One-lines etc.)
Display mechanical and electrical aptitude for equipment operation/troubleshooting
Strong communication team leadership skills
General understanding of accounting principles; ability to learn plant operating budget
Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate
On call nights weekends and holidays as required; occasional travel typically 1 to 4 training trips per year
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including hardhat safety glasses safety shoes/boots and FRC clothing
Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
Able to climb ladders work off elevated platforms/surfaces
Able to work in non-conditioned environment for extended periods
Able to enter confined spaces for inspection testing and work
