Job Title: Accounts Assistant
Department: Finance & Accounts
Location: Cochin

Reporting To: Accounts Manager / Finance Manager
Salary- 1.8 LPA

Job Summary
The Accounts Assistant will support the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records processing transactions and ensuring compliance with statutory and internal accounting requirements. The role involves day-to-day accounting activities documentation and coordination with internal departments.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Bookkeeping
• Maintain books of accounts including vouchers ledgers and journals.
• Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately in accounting software (Tally/ERP).
• Assist in preparation of trial balance profit & loss account and balance sheet.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
• Process vendor bills verify invoices and prepare payment vouchers.
• Track accounts payable and ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Follow up on receivables and update outstanding reports.
Banking & Cash Management
• Handle bank transactions cheque preparation and online payments.
• Perform bank and cash reconciliations on a regular basis.
• Maintain petty cash records and ensure proper approvals.
Statutory Compliance
• Assist in GST filings (GSTR-1 GSTR-3B) TDS calculations and returns.
• Support statutory audits internal audits and tax audits by preparing required documents.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Payroll Support
• Assist in payroll processing salary calculations and statutory deductions (PF ESI PT).
• Maintain employee salary records and payroll documentation.
MIS & Reporting
• Prepare monthly MIS reports expense statements and variance analysis.
• Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
• Support management with financial data as required.
Coordination & Documentation
• Coordinate with internal departments for bills approvals and clarifications.
• Liaise with auditors banks and external consultants when required.
• Ensure proper record-keeping and data confidentiality.

Required Qualifications
• Education: / / BBA (Finance) or equivalent
• Experience: 1–3 years in accounts or finance role

Skills & Competencies
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Hands-on experience with Tally ERP systems and MS Excel
• Basic knowledge of GST TDS PF and ESI
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and coordination skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure and data analysis
