Join a mission-driven team as a foundational backend engineer building AI-first experiences for millions of underserved adult learners globally. You will architect scalable infrastructure and data pipelines that bridge language barriers using cutting-edge LLMs. This high-autonomy role offers the chance to build from 0 to 1 at a well-funded startup.

What you will do:

• Architect and implement high-traffic low-latency backend systems and APIs to power real-time AI learning interactions.

• Build and maintain complex data pipelines and recommendation engines serving hundreds of thousands of active users.

• Collaborate with product and ML engineering teams to optimize RAG-based systems and personalized learning experiences.

The ideal candidate:

• Over 5 years of backend experience scaling consumer products to millions of users with Python and AWS.

• Strong expertise in data structures relational database schema design and building high-traffic streaming or multi-threaded APIs.

• Proactive self-directed mindset with a passion for using AI and LLMs to solve real-world educational equity challenges.
