The Laboratory Technician 2 (Lab Support Media Prep) is a full-time permanent position there this position follows a Monday through Friday 7 AM to 4 PM work schedule. This position is located in Wilsonville Oregon.
What youll be doing
Prepares various microbiological media (broths tubes plates) used for identifying and quantitating bacteria of interest and concern.
Makes chemical reagents used in the preparation of media.
Maintains complete and accurate records
Operates autoclaves pH meters dispensing units balances glassware washers.
Performs quality control as needed of supplies.
Serves as back-up analyst for microbiology sections by performing standardized tests on food dairy water and other.

What are we looking for
To Qualify for the Position You Need:
Two years of experience performing routine standardized analytical tests and laboratory procedures in accordance with well-defined written instructionsANDhigh school courses in chemistry biology mathematics or any course which included laboratory work.
Or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
An Associates Degree in Laboratory Science may substitute for one year of the required experience
Some walking & heavy lifting no more than 30 lb maybe required.

Experience working in a laboratory setting (not just academic labs)
Experience preparing and maintaining records of microbiological media and reagent preparation
Experience using analytical tools: pipets balances volumetric glassware etc
Experience keeping accurate and legible records
Experience in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory
Able to work alone or with a team as tasks require
Reliable
Detail oriented
Consistent work output
Communicates effectively with co-workers
