Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Recruiting Manager to lead our talent acquisition efforts and build a high-performing team in the freight brokerage and logistics sector. This role will oversee full-cycle recruitment with a focus on sourcing top talent for sales-oriented positions such as freight brokers account executives carrier sales representatives and operations roles. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume commission-driven environment and understands the unique demands of the transportation and logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive recruiting strategies to attract source and hire qualified candidates for roles in freight brokerage sales
operations and support functions.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle including job postings candidate sourcing (via LinkedIn industry networks job boards and referrals)
screening interviewing offer negotiation and on-boarding.
- Partner closely with hiring managers and department leads to understand staffing needs define role requirements and create compelling job
descriptions tailored to the logistics industry.
- Build and maintain a strong talent pipeline for high-turnover roles like freight brokers and sales agents utilizing proactive sourcing techniques
and industry-specific networks.
- Supervise and mentor a team of recruiters providing training on best practices interviewing techniques and compliance with labor laws.
- Track and analyze recruitment metrics (e.g. time-to-hire cost-per-hire source effectiveness) to optimize processes and report on
performance to leadership.
- Enhance employer branding through participation in industry events job fairs and online communities focused on transportation and
logistics.
- Ensure a positive candidate experience and compliance with all relevant employment regulations.
- Stay current on trends in the freight brokerage and 3PL industry to inform sourcing and retention strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in full-cycle recruiting with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven track record in high-volume recruiting ideally within logistics transportation freight brokerage supply chain or sales-driven industries.
- Strong understanding of freight brokerage operations including roles like freight brokers carrier sales and account management.
- Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) LinkedIn Recruiter and other sourcing tools.
- Excellent communication negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced results-oriented environment with a focus on meeting hiring targets.
Preferred Skills
- Experience recruiting commission-based sales roles in competitive markets.
- Familiarity with compensation structures common in freight brokerage (base commission).
