This position is embedded at the TU/e Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) in close collaboration with the Eindhoven Center for Quantum Materials and Technology (QT/e) and with the Casimir Institute a leading center for Semicon Quantum and Photonics research. The role is financed by Quantum Delta NL (QDNL).

Job Description

Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and the Center for Quantum Materials and Technology (QT/e) are looking for a Business Developer Quantum to strengthen the Quantum Delta Brainport Eindhoven ecosystem. This role is at the heart of one of the five national innovation hubs of Quantum Delta NL which aims to accelerate the adoption of quantum technologies for applications such as quantum computing quantum secure communication and quantum sensing applications. You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge research and industry. Your mission is to accelerate the commercialization of quantum technologies by supporting researchers initiating spin-offs and building strategic partnerships.

Operating from the Qubit building at TU/e campus you will act as a spider in the web and connect TU/e research groups with industry other QDNL hubs and funding bodies. You will work closely with TU/e colleagues Brainport Development BOM and other partners to grow and energize the local ecosystem. Your responsibilities span three key areas:

Start-up Development: Identify commercially viable technologies guide researchers through pre-incorporation phases and ease spin-out processes in collaboration with the QDNL program.

Business Development: Build partnerships locally nationally and internationally; initiate collaborative projects; strengthen ties with end-users; and secure funding for new initiatives. Connecting the quantum industry with the (local) high-tech supply chain.

Quantum Campus Development: Coordinate housing and infrastructure plans for quantum start-ups at TU/e High-Tech Campus and Brainport Industries Campus while expanding the quantum community and positioning Eindhoven as a leading quantum hub.

This role requires a proactive entrepreneurial mindset and strong networking skills to bridge science business and policy domains. You will work closely with the Business Developer at Brainport Development and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with regional and national strategies. Job Requirements

Education:

Academic level in a relevant direction; preferably physics engineering or business with strong affinity for deep-tech innovation.

Experience:

  • 5 years in business development preferably in high-tech or research-driven environments.
  • Proven track record in start-up support technology valorization and partnership building.

Expertise:

  • Understanding of quantum technologies or ability to learn quickly.
  • Familiarity with innovation ecosystems and funding instruments (national/EU).

Skills:

  • Strong networking and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to bridge science business and policy domains.
  • Proactive organized and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.

Conditions of Employment

  • Full-time position (40 hours/week). A part time 32 hours work week is an option.
  • Initial one-year contract extension until December 31 2028.
  • Salary: Scale 12 (5.705 7.297) CAO-NU.
