As the first engineering management hire you will lead a remote team of four engineers building mission-critical data systems. You will balance hands-on technical architecture with mentorship driving the development of scalable pipelines and data lakes using GCP and Databricks to power data-driven decisions for an international brand with zero team turnover.

What you will do:
- Lead the architecture and optimization of scalable data pipelines and warehouses using Airflow DBT and GCP.
- Mentor a team of engineers removing technical roadblocks while maintaining high code quality across payments and core systems.
- Own the technical hiring process and drive engineering excellence across distributed data processing frameworks like Databricks.
The ideal candidate:
- At least 4 years of hands-on data engineering experience with expertise in Python SQL and DBT transformation workflows.
- Proven ability to lead and develop remote engineering teams while maintaining deep technical credibility in cloud-native environments.
- Experience with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow and familiarity with distributed processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
