Job Summary
Job Title: Mental Therapy Aide
Location: Syracuse NY 13210
Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule: Night shifts 412s (7:00 PM7:30 AM) and 48s (11:00 PM7:30 AM); every other weekend required
Pay Rate: $24/hour
Position Summary:
The Mental Therapy Aide provides direct and indirect patient care in an inpatient Children/Adolescent Psychiatric Unit supporting nursing staff in maintaining a safe therapeutic environment and delivering age-appropriate behavioral and clinical support.
Responsibilities:
Assist with patient care ADLs vitals admissions exams specimen collection intake/output and patient transport
Observe patient behavior report changes and document in EMR
Provide therapeutic interaction crisis intervention and patient orientation
Maintain patient safety perform safety checks and support unit operations
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of relevant psychiatric or behavioral health experience
Current CPR certification
EMR experience and strong communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a care team
Preferred:
2 years of experience
Pediatric or adolescent psychiatric experience
Prior inpatient healthcare experience
