High School Diploma or Equivalent REQUIRED
Associates degree preferred
o Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency
PBT(ASCP) - Phlebotomy Technician upon hire preferred.
Three years experience in a medical setting REQUIRED
1 year of supervisory experience preferred
Customer Service experience preferred
Anatomic Pathology lab experience preferred
What You Will Do
Follows laboratory procedures for handling unacceptable specimens
Resolves pending specimen issues
Coordinates timed routine ASAP and STAT draws to prevent multiple sticks to the patient and to prevent excessive blood volume draws.
Participates in orientation and training of new employees and students
Participates in system entity or departmental performance improvement activities internal laboratory committees professional organizations or hospital sponsored community service activities.
Reviews physician orders to ensure all tests are ordered in LIS
Accurately enters client information and test orders into LISRestock supplies before and after shift
Notify supervisor when supplies are low
Performs assigned daily/weekly/monthly maintenance
