Job Description
Responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of health and safety on-site ensuringcompliance with occupational health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safetywithin the organization. You will work closely with managers supervisors and employees tomonitor and maintain workplace safety standards assist in risk management and ensure thehealth and safety of all personnel across various departments.
Health and Safety Program Implementation:
Assist in the development implementation and continuous improvement of health andsafety programs policies and procedures.
Ensure all safety practices and protocols are consistent with company policy industrystandards and local regulations.
Support the implementation of occupational health and safety risk assessments andcontrols in alignment with legal and industry requirements.
Training and Education:
Coordinate and deliver safety training programs to employees across all levels to ensureawareness of safe work practices proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)and emergency procedures.
Regularly assess the training needs of employees and provide guidance and support foron-the-job training.
Promote safety awareness and best practices throughout the company and foster asafety-first culture.
Compliance and Regulatory Oversight:
Monitor and ensure that workplace health and safety practices comply with all relevantlaws and regulations (e.g. OSHA local state and federal safety regulations).
Maintain a current understanding of industry safety trends and new regulations to ensurethe organization remains compliant.
Assist in preparing for and facilitating external audits or inspections from regulatorybodies.
Incident and Accident Reporting:
Investigate workplace accidents injuries or safety concerns conducting thorough rootcause analysis and documenting findings.
Develop corrective and preventive action plans to address incidents prevent recurrenceand ensure ongoing safety.
Ensure proper documentation and reporting of workplace incidents as required by lawincluding tracking of injury and accident statistics.
Risk Assessment and Hazard Management:
Conduct regular risk assessments and audits of workplace environments to identifyhazards and risks that could affect the health and safety of employees.
Work with department managers to implement and monitor the effectiveness of riskcontrols safety measures and mitigation strategies.
Assist in the identification evaluation and management of workplace hazards (physicalchemical ergonomic etc.)
Emergency Preparedness and Response:
Assist in the development and execution of emergency response plans ensuringemployees are trained in emergency procedures and equipped to handle workplaceemergencies.
Coordinate emergency drills including fire drills and evacuation procedures to ensurepreparedness for any emergencies.
Act as a key point of contact for safety-related emergencies and respond appropriatelyto incidents when they occur.
Safety Monitoring and Reporting:
Regularly monitor and report on the overall safety performance of the organizationidentifying trends and areas for improvement.
Create and maintain reports on safety metrics including accident reports trainingcompletion safety audits and compliance checks.
Provide regular updates to management and leadership regarding safety performancesafety initiatives and recommendations for improvement.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with management HR and supervisors to address any health and safetyconcerns and ensure safety measures are implemented consistently across all areas.
Communicate with external safety organizations and agencies to stay updated on newregulations and best practices.
Act as a safety advocate and a liaison between employees and management to promotea positive and proactive safety culture.
Work Conditions:
40% Office 60% Field. Rotation to different projects sites.
Required Skills and Competencies
Demonstrated capacity to work both autonomously and within a team environment.
Ability to effectively communicate with different stakeholders including internal staffcontractors and regulatory bodies.
University degree in engineering
NCSO designation (working towards)
3 - 5 years Construction/Mayor Infrastructure
Strong knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.
Ability to develop safety documentation and reports and maintain accurate recordsof safety activities
Experience in safety management with the ability to implement safety protocols andpractices effectively.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with the ability to analyzeincidents and identify root causes.

Knowledge of risk assessment techniques and the ability to identify and mitigateworkplace hazards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software tools.
