Job Title: Assistant Estates Manager (West)
PSM Recruitment Ltd are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Estates Manager to support the delivery of estates and facilities services across a multi-site education environment based primarily from the Hadlow area.
Job Description:
The Assistant Estates Manager will support the Estates Manager (West) in overseeing maintenance caretaking cleaning and contractor activity across western sites with occasional support to other locations. The role involves coordinating workloads via an online helpdesk system ensuring works are completed efficiently safely and to agreed standards. This is a hands-on management role requiring strong organisational skills technical understanding and effective people management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supervising day-to-day estates
- Maintenance and caretaking staff
- Overseeing cleaning operations
- Coordinating planned and reactive maintenance
- Managing contractors
- Ensuring health and safety compliance
- Arranging movement of furniture and equipment
- Responding to alarms when required
- Placing orders and approving invoices
- Supporting planned preventative maintenance programmes
- Assisting with building projects and site security
Candidate Requirements:
- Applicants should have a background in building maintenance surveying or health and safety with strong knowledge of construction and maintenance practices.
- Experience managing teams contractors and working to tight deadlines is essential. A confident communication style strong organisational skills and a flexible approach are key. A full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites is required.
